Many people often harvest by pulling the basil leaves, which, unfortunately, can damage the stems. To avoid this, you should make a clean cut with scissors and secure the plant.

  Do not harvest at a young age

If you harvest your plants when they are young, you can kill them. Wait until the plant is 6-8 inches tall and at least 4-5 inches wide, which is the best time to harvest.
